I came here as a kallah, not knowing anything about sheitels. I received vouchers from my community to help fund a sheitel and this "company" ripped me off by telling me I'm getting a good quality wig. The wig lasted no more than 2 months- the hair was horrible quality...like I would wash the wig and a day later the hair was greasy and gross. Such a bad experience and they don't care!

I bought and was told I could exchange. After not receiving what I wanted three times they said sorry can't exchange anymore. I am left with a wig that is very puffy and uncomfortable. Not good hair quality and extremely frizzy. Would not recommend.

Bought and was told explicitly that it was virgin European hair. When I called back to let them know how coarse the hair was and how it began to oxidize and turn red and fall out and burn easily (meaning highly processed) and was generally just an unmanageable mess of a shaitel, they said well yeah, obviously, since it's mongolian hair what do you expect? I would never have bought it if they said that in the first place. I would never go back to such a dishonest business.

Was so excited to get an Elle. I loved the cap fit and the look. Bought one after asking if it will look nice with bangs and was assured yes. It looked terrible because bangs kept splitting. I asked several times to get it fixed. Hair was finally added and bangs still split most of the time. Since it took so long to get fixed I needed a second sheitle in meantime. I bought another Elle and this one gets super knotty and both lose hair very quickly. I am really disspointed in Elle. And like others said the hair is processed though they promise it's not......they even slipped to me that the wigs with 2 numbers for colors mean a natural base and died highlights.....

Purchased Elle wig at pop up sale $700. Shoulder length and wavy. They were really pleasant and gave me big smile. I paid cash and asked for a receipt which they said they will email. I had to nudge 2x before i got my receipt. Overall the buying experience was pleasant. I was told virgin unprocessed hair which I find highly unlikely. I wear it every single day, and notice when I comb my fingers through it hairs come out. It does get notty but im used to low maintenance sheitles and I forget to brush it daily! I wash it myself and air dry it on a hook. It curls up very naturally. The part is good and looks great teased. I need to spray it with water and scrunch it daily but she told me so when i bought it. The cap is comfy, they showed me how to adjust it to fit me properly.
All in all Im happy with my purchase. I get compliments every time I wear it. People say it's such a soft, natural look. While I expected a higher quality wig, in the end I feel I got what I paid for and for that reason Im happy with it.

Bought a short wig in July. I love it! It's wavy with volume and lots of curls, just what I wanted. I get lots of compliments. Easy to maintain just spritz and go no mousse needed. I washed myself. No cut was needed. The hair is definitely very processed, but that's what you paid for. You can't expect to get top quality for cheap prices. Very happy for the price I paid. The staff I dealt with where very nice and accommodating.

bought a short elle wig. Very unhappy. I t is very processed, has no life to it. very little hair on the sheitel.
brought it to a sheitel macher to cut, she refused saying not enough hair, too flat, unnatural. A bad buy, hardly wore it. very sorry spent more than $50 that you can get for synthetic.

I am a Shaitel macher, and I was looking for a low maintenance every day shaitel that can withstand wind and rain and still look decent. I bought a shoulder length elle shaitel that had natural waves and moderate body. After taking it home, cutting and washing it, it looked fabulous- but I realized during the wash that the hair WAS VERY processed. It dried nicely (had to touch up the bangs, waves etc...) but still looks great after going through the rain and wind. It does have A LOT of volume, so it poofs up when windy. I think the cap is too small for me so the clips dig into my skin and are very uncomfortable, but if you get the right size, the cap should fit well and be comfy. I think the cap was made well. Its a great weekday shaitel that will probably last a couple years if no hot tools are applied. I am generally happy because I did not have high expectations and I knew that the shaitel was probably processed due to the low price.

I got an Elle wig...when I asked them how it is so cheap they just simply smiled it off by saying "so funny,,,everybody asks us that"...which will most probably happen if every single wig is under $1000. Either way, decided to go ahead with the purchase. For the first week or so I was happy...but then hair started to poof uncontrollably. I have it for only a few months and I can't see myself wearing it for much longer. A few shaitel machers confidently told me that it is in no way the "unprocessed, virgin, Russian" hair that they claim it is. I feel lots of people buy and don't mind that they're so new since it's so "cheap"...but is it really that cheap if the quality is cheap as well?

I bought one recently and the owner openly told me that it's Mongolian hair. I don't believe they are lying to their customers and pretending it's high quality European hair.

They confidently told me it is Russian Unprocessed Virgin hair. There is clearly a discrepency. They probably got caught lying and decided to be open and honest. If Mongolian then its the samenas Shaina.

I still have the message they sent me saying (copy and pasted): "all wigs are 100%virgin/non processed...hairs are russian hair"

Just bought a short wavy one. Very comfortable. Hair drys into wavy/curls beautiful curs. Lots of body. Easy to maintain. Not sure how long it will last but for that price was worth it.

Thinking of Rating A Wig Company?
When leaving your rating or review, please consider the following things:

At Shaytell, we value honesty above all else. Please make sure you have actually had an experience with a specific company before rating them. (This does not mean you had to purchase a wig. It could have been a consultation, a phonecall, a meeting, etc., but you should be commenting on a personal interaction.)

We encourage all reviews: good and bad. We just want you to write about it in a calm way. Try and keep language professional, and think about your review as a means of guiding someone else toward the best company rather than bashing a company you may have had a negative experience with.

Pictures are great. Your review will have most impact if you can show people what you loved or hated about your experience with that vendor!
