Cap construction is excellent, Raizy made sure if fit like a glove. The front lace is cut to mirror my hairline exactly and the wig is incredibly comfortable. The hair however is thick and strawlike, the back knots up very badly (brushing each night is a 5 minute ordeal and skipping a day will only make it worse). I wash it myself every 6-8 weeks but about 3 weeks after a wash it already looks drabby because of the hair texture.
When I first got it, the knotting was awful I needed to separate hairs by hand at the end of the day since a brush wouldn't go through the knots. Raizy did conditioning treatment and when that didn't help she sent to Barbera for treatment (free of charge). The knotting isn't as bad since but it still needs daily maintenance in the summer and more in the winter when jacket collars meet up with the problem area in the back. Aside from the knotting I don't like the rough clumpy hair look.
I've seen other Barberas that seem a bit more smooth than mine so maybe I got a lemon but I would still not recommend this line as it's a real gamble.

From my experience and others I've spoken to you have to get lucky to be happy with your Barbara. Unfortunately I was not. For their prices you should have assurance.

I have 2 Barbaras, one slightly wavy and one curly. I love them both, so easy to wear and easy to maintain. I love that i could wash them myself and air dry, which makes the price so worth it bc i barely need to pay for wash and sets. Hair is gorgeous, so natural but needs the care of human hair (anti frizz for my curly one bc i live in miami) ppl always think im not wearing a wig bc the fronts are so natural on both sheitels, and the quality is just like i bought them 2 years ago.
The first week or two the lace front was itchy, i wore a band till i got used to it, now its super comfortable and I wear a sheitel all day.
Highly recommend, Esty Sputz is amazing!

I am so incredibly disappointed with my Barbara wig. I spent close to $4,000.00 on it before my wedding hoping I wouldn't have the issues everyone talks about with their first wigs. By the second of my second sheva brachos I had to wash it for the first time because it was feeling like straw. The hair piled out from the beginning and a month in I was missing a third of the hair. Within a few months I had split ends everywhere and the wig just feels dry and straw like. Also every time I wash it (the way I was instructed), it comes out at least a shade lighter. The only redeeming qualities are the hair line ("it looks like it's coming out of your head") and the comfort of the cap but those two things are definitely not worth the money you spend on it.

I have a long curly shaitel. The hair is still gorgeous 2 years later. It really is a beautiful wig. I treat it like I did my hair, and it has a very natural look. It gets the usual knotting at the nape of the neck, as do most long wigs. However it is very hot in the summer time, and I usually wear my Binah when I know I'll be out for long.

Out of all the wigs I've purchased in the past 20 years, nothing came close to my barbera. It's the closest thing to real hair possible, and the quality far outdoes any other wig, and it's the most comfortable wig I have ever worn!

Just love my wig!!! I'm so happy with it. had a great experience....(Long time ago I tired buying a cheaper wig from a cheap company.... I ended up having to buy another one anyway - in short yes wigs cost $$$ but it's like everything else - you pay for what you get. You go for the cheaper ones you have to buy more of them... More expensive ones last longer. This one I have I can tell you is worth it! I have anappointment set up for the next time I come in to New York.

To me comfort and fit matters most. The wig I got is long and silky looks stunning!!!! my first one and I love it!....expensive..... but worth it (I'm paying so much for my wig, figured might as well pay more and get it right)

Hello there, it’s great to hear you are enjoying everything about your piece except for the knotting. This is an issue that can easily be solved with a Dimensional Haircut. Just think of a raw piece that reaches all the same length and with daily wear that hair moves but is unable to flow without getting caught on other hair. A dimensional haircut mimics a natural head of hair that would have all various lengths of hair to allow space to move freely with less friction.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Right when I got married i loved my Barbra. Then I started realizing issues with it. The cap did not fit properly, it was a funny shape on top and the layers did not blend nicely. I hardly had it cut so it came like that and even if I would want to recut and layer the hair is too thin.
It is light and comfortable for the most part but way too much time has to be put in before I wear it each time. Unless I wear it with a hat it looks great but ddnt spend that $$$$ for a hat wig!
In the beginning her customer service was great and they were helping me and after a few months they said sorry we can't help you.
I am so bummed because I spent so much money on it and it just sits on my shelf! ?

Since Ive tried on a Barbera Wig, I can only wear theirs. They are made so well and I feel like its made for me. My favorite part is the hairline which was customized to my own natural hairline, and looks as if its growing out of my head! I get compliments everyday on how amazing I look and that it looks exactly as my hair did. I feel great in it and I would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone that cares for a real comfortable beauty.

Purchased my wig from Raizy and couldn't be happier! First off the customer service is great, once you get past the long wait! She aims to please. As for the wig, the hair is beautiful. The texture and quality is great and easy to see. The front of the wig matches my hairline perfectly and I'm grateful for that. I've had it for a year now so it's hard to determine lifespan but so far so good.

Cap doesn't fit right and were going to charge me a lot more to fix. Wearing it now as is . Is also extremely itchy at times at lace front hairline. Hair is great though!

I love my barbera! Very silky nice hair, and a very natural hairline. I have a widows peak and I was able to customize the front so it dips down to cover the peak so I don't have to wear it so low which makes it look unnatural. I was also able to add a bit of my own hair to the front. Something to be aware of, is that lots of barberas have layers that do not blend. As in, there is a really long layer and then a much shorter layer on top instead of gradually getting shorter layers. So look at the piece and make sure it is not like that.

I grew my own hair very long and then cut it very short and gave it to Barbara owner. She matched my hair exactly and made me a beautiful custom wig, using my hair for the front. I love my wig, it looks very natural amd i would say the only downside is maintance. I find it does get really frizzy quickly and i was dissapointed to see alot of hair fall out when i wash it. I love that i can wash it myself and let it airdry but im not to sure the hair quality is amazing because its starting to look dry and frizzy after having it for one year. Barabara wigs has been very helpful and easygoing about fixing issues i had.

Love my barbera. The hair is amazing.
I get compliments from random ppl all the time asking if I'm even wearing a wig.
It's a delicate wig though, needs good care.

Thinking of Rating A Wig Company?
When leaving your rating or review, please consider the following things:

At Shaytell, we value honesty above all else. Please make sure you have actually had an experience with a specific company before rating them. (This does not mean you had to purchase a wig. It could have been a consultation, a phonecall, a meeting, etc., but you should be commenting on a personal interaction.)

We encourage all reviews: good and bad. We just want you to write about it in a calm way. Try and keep language professional, and think about your review as a means of guiding someone else toward the best company rather than bashing a company you may have had a negative experience with.

Pictures are great. Your review will have most impact if you can show people what you loved or hated about your experience with that vendor!
